In this class you will explore handbuilding with slabs and make a small dish, medium vase, tumbler or ring holder. Most students make 2 items. This class will review the basics but is also fun for experienced potters. $90 includes all materials
Handbuilding for Plant Lovers - Jan. 17, 2026, 2-4:30 and Feb. 8, 2026, 2-3
In this class you will explore handbuilding with slabs to create a hanging planter and a decorative plant charm/stake. It may be helpful to have a little previous clay experience for this one, but creative beginners are welcome as well. $90 includes all materials

Generally classes are $35/hour for one person, $45/hour for two and $60/hour for three people, plus the cost of materials (@$25). Classes are usually 2-5 hours, depending on what you want to learn and include clay, glaze, and two kiln firings. Please request more information by completing the form below. In this class you will tackle handles by making a medium pitcher or a large mug. You will learn techniques to create texture as well as ways to alter forms. It's helpful to have some handbuilding experience, but it is not essential.

Mugs! Feb. 22, 2023, 10 a.m. Make 2-4 mugs in this two-session class (3.5 hours total). We will slab build mugs with texture and play with several different forms, simple cylinder, bellied mug, darted mug, or conical mug. You will learn to make a simple handle and attach it. In the second session (to be scheduled at least 2 weeks after), you will glaze your mugs. Hourly rate listed applies, depending on number of attendees, plus a $25 materials and firing fee.

Plates! Feb. 24, 2023, 2 p.m. Make 2-4 dinner or salad plates in this two or three session class. We will slab build plates with optional texture. You will learn different methods of forming plates from a more natural organic look to a traditional rimmed plate built from a form. In the second session (to be scheduled at least 2 weeks after), you will glaze your plates. Hourly rate listed applies, depending on number of attendees, plus $20 for clay and a firing fee per plate.
Pottery for Kids: Make a planter and a small catch-all, or make a mug in this two-session class (3.5 hours total). Come back to paint your piece. $85 total for 2 session classes or $50 total as a 1 session, 2.5 hour class. Reach out to 3stackspottery@gmail.com for more info!

Carving a Plate: In this 2.5 hour class, you will learn to use a slump mold to create a plate and then carve a design into it. Super fun! $55 per person, materials included (minimum of 3 people) Reach out to 3stackspottery@gmail.com for more info!
Texture and Stamps: Learn how to create and carve your own clay stamps to use in hand building. In 1.5 hours you will make at least three stamps or a roller to use in your work.
